These are the older messages from Bob's previous website, which we had to close due to the old technology:
**July 2010: Bob was 89 last week and is taking great pride in your wonderful comments and he has asked us to thank everyone for their good wishes and tell you how much it means to him that he's been such a big part of so many people's childhood.**

Comment: Bob Block has to be one of our unsung heroes. A prolific writer, somebody that has written for the "Whos Who" of British Comedy without the accolades that should have come his way. Best of all he wrote one of my all time faves " Rentaghost" The man was, is, and always will be a genius. Now get this site up to speed and tell everybody just who has been really making them laugh for the last 50 odd years!

Comment: Thanks Rob for your very kind comments about Dad - he was really chuffed when he saw them! As you can see, I've started some serious work on the site, but there's lots more to come, so please do keep coming back! The whole family feel it's way overdue for people to know exactly what Dad DID do - we're all so proud of him! Tricia

Comment: It is my great privilege to be a friend of Bob's daughter Trish and her husband Ray. I remember life With The Lyons on the radio when I was a child, and lots of the other programmes Bob was involved with. Brad Ashton a co script writer was a one time mentor of my short lived scrpt writing career in the 1980s. I am thrilled to be able to add my few words to this long overdue tribute to Bob Block.

Comment: When I was young, Bob's name was on the credits of almost every funny show. Bob's work was brilliant - I missed much of his early material (must seek it out), but loved "Pardon my genie" and "Roberts Robots". What a pity he's not still writing - TV could still use his talent!

Comment: Rent a Ghost was one of my favourite programmes - funny and imaginative. I doubt that any of today's children's programmes are so magical. I have a hazy memory of Robert's Robots but I'm pretty sure I loved it. Never realised Bob did so much. I wish him all the best. He certainly improved my childhood!

Comment: Hi, I'm compiling a book about the Legends of Kids TV and as a big fan of Rentaghost, I was happy to find this site to Bob. I'd be interested to include a mini biography of Bob in his own words, and about how the opportunity to create and write for these shows cames about. Please get in touch and I can give you more details. Kinds regards Garry Vaux

Comment: I'm the granddaughter of Bob Block and a very proud one at that! I grew up watching his old VHS recordings of Rentaghost and Galloping Galaxies and have recently introduced RG to my class of 9 year olds. They love it and wish it was on Tv now, testament to it's timelessness I guess. Thanks to everyone who is leaving messages, it means a lot to know his work is still appreciated.

Comment: A surreal writing genius underrated and no way enough material on the net. Although i am too young to remember the glorious Roberts Robots first time round I watched an episode on you tube and was in hysterics laughing at its surreal brilliance the frozen pea to calm the steaming ear using robot and his half man half robot sort of expression is priceless. Rather good looking robot too:) as a surrealist visual artist i appreciate surrealism in all forms and this is the funniest thing seen ever. Official:) any chance the series could be posted on you tube to watch as dont have dvd. Sure lots of fans would love to see it. Good luck with the site and i truly believe all genius things are those which are underrated or more obscure. Visit my site if you like. All the best x jasmine

Comment: Pardon My Genie was my favourite programme as a young teen. This year I was given the DVD of Series 1 for Father's Day and watched it all with my 11 year-old son, Max. Nearly 40 years on, it still made me laugh and Max adored it. A lovely show and a great cast. Thank you, Bob!

Comment: There are very few programs from my childhood that stayed in my heart, Rentaghost was always up there are the top. I don't profess to have seen everything Bob wrote but I can state with honesty that what I saw stayed with me and kept a smile on my face. I am now 42 and with luck, another 40 years will go buy with me laughing away at Bobs writing. Thanks for my childhood Bob. If you're ever in Norway, look me up and I'll buy you a beer or two :)

Comment: This weekend, over an evening meal with some good friends we spent almost 3 hours discussing rentaghost. Many happy memories and a cracking evening - all down to the talents of Bob. Please pass on my very best wishes and sincere thanks for his contribution to what must be the childhood of millions of kids (at heart...). My glass is raised. Cheers. Steve

Comment: Rentaghost is pure genius. Bob Block's writing is in a class of its own, and as a grown-up, I still find his scripts absolutely hilarious. For me, the feuding between the Perkins and the Meakers is priceless. What a star Bob is. Thank you so much.

Comment: Hello Adam! Thank you so much for getting in touch - I can't believe we've heard from you after all this time. It's amazing you're still in Ealing and at the tennis club! At 90 Mum's a little to old to play any more, but her years of playing tennis have nevertheless made her a very fit 90 year old! I will show her and Dad your message and I will email you. Glad to hear your name still gets recognition! Best wishes, Tricia

Comment: As you will all know if you've seen the updated Home Page, our Dad - Bob Block - died peacefully on April 17th. The family would like to thank all the fans of his many programmes, both old and new, for all their support and best wishes over the years. We'll miss him immensely, of course, but so will the world of entertainment.

Comment: So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a comic genius and a criminally under rated and under appreciated one.I'm ashamed to say I hadn't myself,'till recently, been aware of just how extensive and varied his CV is and how far back it goes. I simply adore Rentaghost (My You Tube screen name and Xbox Live gamertag is MasterMeaker).I watched from the very beginning,as an 8 year old primary school kid,to the very end,as a 16 year old recent school leaver. Bob Block-a new star in heaven.
